TRANSIT PROTECTION BENEFIT

This Transit Protection Benefit applies to all shipments made through our online buy and sell platform. The purpose of this transit protection document is to provide benefit under our bailee policy for the protection of the items being shipped up to a maximum cover amount of R50 000. We also offer full cover up to R750 000, which is described in clause 1.3. Please read this policy carefully before initiating any shipments.

1.COVERAGE

1.1. Transit will be effective from the time the item is collected or received for shipment until the time it is delivered to the designated recipient.

1.2. The benefit value will be the lower of the actual value of the item or a maximum amount of R50 000.

1.3. For amounts greater than R50 000, the seller will incur an additional freight charge of 1%. The Seller will also be required to insert a tracking device supplied by Bullion Link and must be booked in advance. The cost for shipping the device and instruction to the seller will be funded by Bullion Link. This rate is subject to future revision and the cost is revealed during the order checkout process.

2. EXCLUSIONS

Transit protection does not include the following:

2.1. Cash for paying a seller.

2.2. Illegal or prohibited items as per local laws and regulations.

2.3. Perishable items, including food, plants, and animals.

2.4. Fragile items, including glassware, ceramics, and electronics without proper packaging.

2.5. Valuable items such as jewellery, precious stones, and precious metals unless declared and agreed to in writing by both parties.

2.6. Items that are not adequately packaged as per industry standards, resulting in damage during transit.

2.7. Items shipped to or from countries subject to trade embargoes or economic sanctions.

2.8. Damages resulting from natural disasters, acts of God, or political unrest.

2.9. Losses or damages caused by the act or negligence of the shipper or recipient.

2.10. Consequential damages, such as loss of profits or business interruption.

2.11. Losses or damages arising from delays in transit, unless due to the courier’s negligence.

3. NOTIFICATION OF ANY LOSS AND/OR DAMAGE

3.1. In case of damage during transit, the recipient must notify us within 24 hours of delivery.

3.2. In case of loss, the client must bring it under the attention of Bullion Link by sending an email to support@bullionlink.co.za

3.3. The recipient must provide documented evidence of the loss or damage, including photographs, purchase receipts, and any other supporting documentation.

3.4. We may request the damaged item to be returned for inspection purposes before processing the claim.

3.5. The Protection Benefit will be processed within a reasonable time frame of up to 21 days after receiving all necessary documentation.

3.6. The Protection Benefit amount will be based on the lesser of the actual value of the item or the maximum cover amount of R50 000 or as stated in clause 1.3.
